The ancient world in modern Greek art

The scientific meeting at the Archaeological Museum of Kavala on "The ancient world in modern Greek art", organized by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kavala and the Center for Culture, Research and Documentation of the Bank of Greece in the exhibition "Meeting point: Archeology and art in conversation at the Archaeological Museum of Kavala ", which is currently housed there.

Taking into account the works of art from the Collection of the Bank of Greece, included in the exhibition, the announcements of the invited speakers will illuminate ways in which themes and ideas of the ancient world characterize different aspects of Greek and artistic creation of the 19th and 20th century.

This will be followed by a concert entitled Pan the Great was set !, with the vocalist Julia Souglakou and the classical guitar soloist Korina Vougiouka. Works by Debussy, Pergolesi, Offenbach, M. Hadjidaki and other composers were presented.
