The Museum goes to the School - Without cash, how?
Thursday, March 17, 2022
The museum educational program "without cash, how?", originally designed in the context of the temporary exhibition "ePayments: a road map" that was presented at the BoG Museum from June 2019 to October 2021, has secured the approval of the Institute of Educational Policy of the Ministry of Education as regards its educational suitability and has been performed in our museum environment by pupil groups from numerous high schools and lyceums of the country, with great success.
Its main goal is to familiarise the participants with the various ways in which a cashless payment can be implemented nowadays, easily and above all safely, in a rapidly evolving environment.
As the dynamic development of the museum-school relationship changes according to the conditions shaped each time, in order to ensure continuation of the active connection between our Museum and the educational institutions regardless of possible difficulties in physically accessing the museum, the material of this educational program was properly adapted and packaged so as to become easily "mobile", and is shipped free of charge to be utilised within the school environment.
There, inside their own familiar school areas, students are prompted to make best use of the material provided, in order to create their own e-payments exhibition, search for information, play roles, improvise, and actively engage in the learning process through a series of fun educational activities. As for tutors, following the detailed instructions described in the accompanying "form for the teacher", they have the opportunity to enjoy a rather pleasant break in their daily routine, taking on the role of orchestrator in this process of transferring the museum experience within their class.
Overall, in addition to its key learning objectives, the "without cash, how?" educational program, in its "mobile" version designed specifically to be conducted within the school environment, also helps strengthen the school-museum links, while at the same time promotes collaborative learning, by encouraging the students' personal involvement in information discovery.
