Global Money Week: Build your future, be smart about money

Tuesday, March 22, 2022

During this year’s GMW, the Museum of the bank of Greece participates introducing special events as described below:

Museum visits
Guided tours to the current temporary exhibition of the Museum, where visitors can participate in a specially designed educational / recreational program titled “GREEN ESCAPE”. The program seeks to incorporate teenager-popular escape room practices, teach about the economic impacts of climate change, and highlight green investments as humanity’s way forward, towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.

Digital activities
Online access to a 3D green investment game, called “HANDLE WITH CARE” and played on mobile devices, which promotes an entrepreneurial attitude amongst the public – especially the younger generation – and specifically enhances awareness on environment-friendly entrepreneurial strategies. The game is freely downloadable through Google Play and Apple Store, and players can participate individually or in virtual teams, targeting a “high score” both financially and environmentally. When played as part of a school visit, the game can be accompanied by classroom lessons, discussions with teachers, and background course material.

Museum outreach program
Launching of a pandemic-safe Museum outreach program, called “THE MUSEUM GOES TO SCHOOL: CASHLESS, HOW?”. The program aims to financially educate secondary education students by helping them develop knowledge on the various means of electronic payment, and offering practical “how to” tips on selecting and safely delivering each. The program is to be performed within the school environment, by the educator who is completely enabled by the program through tangible exhibition material, detailed facilitating / interpreting scenarios, and a specially designed activities’ guide.
