Global Money Week 2023: Plan your money, plant your future
Monday, March 13, 2023
Educational activity inspired by the Museum's temporary exhibition "Economy and Climate: Handle with Care" in combination with the permanent slogan of the Global Money Week institution ("Learn. Save. Earn.") and its special theme for 2023 "Plan your Money, plant your future".
Global Money Week is an annual international campaign to raise awareness among the new generation on issues related to money, through the organisation of national and local events and activities that mobilise the participation of children and young people in the learning process aimed at financial education, saving, creating a livelihood, selecting employment fields, and/or developing a sense of entrepreneurship. Celebrated since 2012 it is organised every March by the international Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The Museum's educational programme, centered around the "Plan your money, plant your future" idea, focuses on the interaction of climate change with the economy and on encouraging some "greener" personal financial mindsets and behaviours that promise a more sustainable individual as well as collective path into the future. It is based on three thematic axes:
The programme targets a young student audience, lasts one (1) hour and is designed so as to be performable either onsite during the children's visit to the temporary exhibition, or as an activity outside the Museum, based on a detailed storyline that is provided with full analytical instructions to be carried out (e.g. at school) by their teacher.
- CLIMATE CHANGE: information and awakening triggered by the exhibits of the Museum's temporary exhibition (Learn!)
- SAVE YOUR MONEY, saving earth: suggestions for green money-saving (Save!)
- EARN YOUR MONEY, saving earth: introduction of green employment and professions of the future (Take advantage!)
