Euro at 20 

The euro celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of its first circulation in physical form! This new temporary exhibition focuses on the greatest monetary transition ever, i.e. the simultaneous adoption of a new single currency by 12 euro area member states in 2002 (which led to the creation of one of the most important currencies in the world), as well as on the euro banknotes and coins themselves, which tangibly remind us on a daily basis of the freedom, convenience and opportunities that the use of the euro presents today, two decades later.
